• Perform structural sizing and select appropriate materials (steel, aluminum extrusion) for stability and load-bearing requirements; design for ease of installation, mobility (casters), height adjustability and maintenance access.
• Layout Design: Develop 2D/3D plant floor layouts integrating cobots, conveyors, fixtures, safety fencing and operator workstations.
• EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) Design: Design custom grippers, vacuum tooling and fixtures for cobot/robot end-effectors based on part geometry, weight and process requirements (pick-and-place, welding, dispensing, assembly).
• Select appropriate actuation methods (pneumatic, electric, vacuum) and off-the-shelf components (grippers, suction cups, sensors) from vendors (SMC, Festo, Schunk, OnRobot, etc.).
