How to Apply for Assam Rifles Technical & Tradesman Rally 2026

1. Visit assamrifles.gov.in and click on “ONLINE APPLICATION”.
2. Fill in the requisite details as prescribed in the application form.
3. Make the online payment via the link given for online payment, or alternatively pay offline through SBI Bank Counters using the generated challan.
4. Upload the copy of the payment receipt/challan online.
5. Print the completed Online Application Form and a copy of the notification downloaded from the Assam Rifles website; keep these ready to carry to the PST/PET reporting.
6. Submit the application well before the closing date – the portal stops functioning from the day of publication of the advertisement to the last date of receipt of applications.

Documents Required

• Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate (or equivalent), for proof of Date of Birth and Name
• Educational qualification certificate(s)/Diploma/ITI certificate for the trade applied for
• Domicile/Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), issued by the competent authority
• Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Other Backward Classes (OBC)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate, in the prescribed format, where applicable
• Ex-Servicemen discharge certificate, where claiming ESM quota/relaxation
• Relaxed physical standard certificate, for candidates belonging to Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras and Marathas categories, issued by the competent authority
• Valid ST certificate, for ST candidates availing relaxation in physical standards
• Printout of the completed Online Application Form
• Original copy of the payment receipt/challan
• Printed copy of the notification downloaded from the Assam Rifles website
• No Objection Certificate (NOC), for departmental (serving Assam Rifles) candidates, issued by the Commanding Officer/Officer Commanding of the Unit through the Colonel (Record), HQ DGAR

Important Conditions

• Application Fee: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) for Group C posts, deposited only via SBI Current Account No. 37088046712, favouring HQ DGAR, Recruitment Branch, Shillong-10, SBI Laitkor Branch (IFSC Code: SBIN0013883). No fee is charged from candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Ex-Servicemen categories; the fee, once paid, is not refunded under any circumstances, nor adjusted against other expenses.
• Change of category and trade during any stage of the recruitment rally will not be entertained.
• Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets are banned within the premises of rally sites/test centres.
• Probation & Training: Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 2 years.
• Recovery of Training Costs: If an enrolled candidate withdraws from the course or resigns prematurely, they must refund the full cost of training or three months’ pay and allowances.
• Exclusive Territorial Jurisdiction: Any dispute or legal proceedings arising from this recruitment process are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts having jurisdiction over the place where the recruitment selection physically takes place; no other court has jurisdiction to entertain any application or petition.
• Indemnity Clause: Candidates participate in all stages of the recruitment process (PET/PST, CBT, Trade Skill Test and medical examinations) voluntarily; the Department and Assam Rifles will not be held liable for any injuries, illnesses, accidents, or medical emergencies occurring during these processes.
• No TA/DA: No Travelling Allowance (TA) or Daily Allowance (DA) will be paid to any candidate for appearing in any phase of the recruitment process. All expenses related to travel, boarding, and lodging must be borne exclusively by the candidate.
• Compassionate ground appointment scheme is not applicable to this Rally.
• If information furnished by a candidate in the Application Form is found to be false at any stage of the Recruitment Rally, or even at a later stage, the candidature of such candidates will be summarily rejected without any notice; appropriate action, including registering an FIR with the Police, may also be taken against such candidates.
• Vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease; the Department has the right to make any changes to the advertisement or cancel it, without assigning any reason.

Official Notification

1. RFID-Based Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Height/chest/weight measurement and the qualifying run, as detailed above.
2. Documentation Verification (DV): Conducted alongside PST/PET reporting; candidates must produce the original of the payment receipt/challan and the printed application form/notification copy.
3. Computer Based Test (CBT): 100-mark objective-type question paper. Minimum pass marks: 35% for General/EWS candidates; 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Candidates successful in the RFID PET/PST, Documentation Verification and CBT are shortlisted to the Trade Skill Test.
4. Trade Skill Test: Based on a Computer Based Trade Test and a Specific Practical Skill Test; no marks are awarded (purely qualifying – pass/fail). Shortlisting for the Skill Test is based on merit in the CBT, at roughly 4 times the number of vacancies (1:4 ratio) per trade/category.
5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME): Conducted as per the Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination for GOs and NGOs in CAPFs and AR (MHA UO No. A.VI-1/2014-Rectt(SSB) dated 20 May 2015, and MHA OM No. E.32012/ADG(Med)/DME&RME-DA-1/2020(Part File)/1166 dated 31 May 2021, as amended).
6. Merit List & Call for Training: Candidates qualifying in all stages (PST, PET, CBT/Trade Skill Test, and Medical Examination) are placed in a trade- and category-wise Merit List, per the vacancies in Appendix ‘B’. Instructions to join the Training Centre are issued based on the Merit List. Qualifying all tests does not by itself guarantee final selection – final selection depends on a candidate’s position in the Merit List against category/trade vacancy availability.

• The Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong, has invited online applications from eligible male Indian citizens for the Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026, for 354 Group C posts across 18 technical trades.
