Job Description
Purpose of the Job
The key responsibility of this role will be to set up and manage the day-to-day operations for this world-class manufacturing unit of composite sandwich panels and to train and develop key personnel and competencies within the organization by successfully translating the manufacturing technology from the European partner. The job holder shall be sent on-site to the technology partner facility for specialized training on the manufacturing process for Honeycomb cored sandwich panels.
Job responsibilities
- Safety:
- Ensure that safe work practices & construction safety procedures are followed as per TATA STEEL standards. Ensure zero fatalities Ensure ‘Zero’ accidents
- Operations:
- Build the flow of the operation and coordinate with technicians to run the manufacturing operations smoothly,
- Manage production and quality of products as per customer contract,
- Ensure technology transfer of operational parameters and KPIs from European unit to the Indian unit,
- Drive PQCDSM in the production unit
- Supply Chain:
- Continuous reduction in operational costs by process improvement,
- Improve checks and balances in the system to ensure smooth delivery of products against the order,
- Work with the IT team to design and implement a supply chain network.
- Coordination with internal stakeholders like Engineering & Projects, Spares Management, Procurement for day-to-day operation.
- Identify and recommend training needs for the workforce and accordingly develop competencies to ensure smooth translation of manufacturing technology from the Technology Partner to the Indian operations
- Productivity:
- Production Planning & scheduling,
- Lower rejection by ensuring manufacturing of products matches the customer specifications and quality parameters.
- Customer complaint handling:
- For any product complaint, interface with the operations team to resolve within the timeline,
- b) For any service complaint, analyze to identify the cause and resolve within timeline and
- Schedule routine maintenance activities as well as during breakdown in plant and coordinate with necessary stakeholders to minimize production stoppage
- Coordinate with stakeholders for carrying out manufacturing trials for new product development once production starts
