Job Description
- The role of a Design Automation lead is to develop and implement the Design Automation (DA) solutions that will fit user needs, and that can be integrated to other solutions such as Product Configurators or Calculations tools. This role will be responsible to develop or adapt external DA solutions; and develop or adjust CAD models to be prepared for a parameter-controlled design automation process.
- Experience in Design Automation, Visual Basic (VB) Map keys, UDF’s, Pro-Programming, ideally in mechanical industry
- Parametric modeling techniques to automate the design process. Utilize features like equations, design tables, and macros to create flexible and customizable models that adapt to different design scenarios.
- Programming skills in languages such as Python, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), or C# to automate repetitive tasks, create custom tools, or integrate CAD software with other systems or databases.
- Experience of Configurator is a plus (CPQ solutions).
- Working knowledge of any Bug tracking & End user support tool.
- Execute User Acceptance Tests.
- Create the CAD template models to be used in the design automation.
- Work with Configurator Expert to adapt and implement configuration models Work on the DA interface with CAD model, Product Configurator and Calculation Solutions Design, create and implement configuration models.
- Build DA considering maintenance needs.
- Document the DA for maintenance and users.
- Knowledge on incorporating manufacturing process methodology in Creo /Pro Engineer.
- Knowledge on PLM (preferred windchill) & CAD (preferred CREO) platform is a must.
- Ability of setting up configuration options and drawing setting files.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering stream.
- 3-6 Years of relevant functional work experience.
- Highly motivated & self-initiator with good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ease at dealing with ambiguity in work situations. Take decisions with limited information where necessary and demonstrate confidence in own decisions.
- Empower themselves by seeking authority to make decisions within appropriate guidelines.
- Recover quickly from and learn from setbacks; and,
- Empathy - Understand the wants, needs, and viewpoints of others. Excellent at managing relationships, listening, and relating to others.
