Job Description
- Determine and take ownership of the mechanical strategy and best practices for the discipline to provide a world-class development environment and approach.
- Mechanical design and development of electronics products for the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of Thermal Management
- Concept Design knowledge of Metal Casings with high-power dissipation
- knowledge of electronic products with displays.
- Alignment with manufacturing
- Co-ordinate with external suppliers & Customers to support the requirement freeze.
- Management of the ME part of the project - planning, timing, risks, tasks, change management, etc.
- Participate in relevant Design Reviews across the product streams to monitor design quality and to have approval power for critical milestones.
- Drive best practices within the discipline and share across the company.
- Computer literacy on Creo 4.0(must require)
- Mechanical engineering graduate or equivalent with 6 to 9 years of experience in Mechanical Design & development.
- Ability to review mechanical design & drawings and perform tolerance analysis.
- Experience in Mechanical design & development with Display products.
- Ability to assess thermal, dynamic, and material compatibility of design changes.
- Current experience using 3D solid modelling tools (CAD Tool – Creo 4.0, CATIA V5)
- Possess expertise in the design of plastic components (injection molding) as well as the design of metal-formed components (sheet metal and machined);
- Experienced with DFM and DFA design techniques, tolerance stack-up analysis, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
- Has knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes; Project management skills, including Requirements, Change and Risk Management.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- DFMEA knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of global standards and materials specification for product design and manufacture.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
