About Company
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 9+ years of relevant experience in T&D or renewable energy sectors.
- Proficiency in tools such as ETAP, WinIGS, Dig SILENT, Easy Power, PSCAD, EMTP-RV, or AutoCAD/E3D for substation design.
- Strong understanding of grid codes (e.g., CEC, CSA, NERC, IEC standards).
- Excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to independently coordinate and deliver high-quality technical reports.
Job Description
- Substation Design and System Studies / EMT Studies:
- Conduct steady-state, dynamic, and transient power system studies (load flow, short circuit, stability, protection coordination, etc.).
- Perform EMT simulations using tools like PSCAD, EMTP-RV, or RTDS for complex grid integration scenarios.
- Analyse grid code compliance for renewable energy integration (wind, solar, BESS).
- Develop models for inverters, FACTS devices, HVDC systems, and protection schemes.
- Collaborate with utilities, developers, and OEMs to interpret study results and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Lead the design of high-voltage substations (up to 765 kV) including layout, equipment selection, and protection/control systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
- Ensure compliance with CSA, IEC, IEEE, and utility-specific standards.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and SCADA teams for integrated substation design.
- Support construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed.
