Job Description
- BE/Master’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and allied branches
- 8+ years of industry experience with a wide-ranging electromechanical background in the automotive, locomotive or mechatronic industry is highly desirable
- Electrical system integration experience
- Wire harness design & 3D routing
- Experience with 3D design tools, FEA, and other CAD suites needed – Creo experience desired
- Hands-on experience in electromechanical system assemblies, wire harness fabrication, including troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and mechanical systems
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and 2D/3D tolerance analyses
- Desired experience in product/process characterization using techniques such as FEA, strain analysis, cost modelling, yield and defect data analysis
- Ability to work independently and deliver flawless
- Excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and multi-tasking capability
- Good Team player
- Integrate multiple subsystems (mechanical, electrical, controls, software, etc.) and components into a fully functional system. Verify and validate system performance.
- The position requires a strong technical aptitude including an excellent understanding of DFx methodologies, component selection, test and inspection methodologies, quality assurance and rail industry related product development.
- Provide technical support (directly or indirectly) in addition to serving as an individual contributor to the concept, system architecture, design, development, test, and integration of system components, including electrical and mechanical interfaces
- Execute on-hand and support internal CAD and engineering teams on design constraints to optimize for production yield and cost. Provide feedback and learnings to internal CAD and engineering teams to improve future designs and processes
- Responsible for wire harness design & preparation of all types of technical documentation (including but not limited to schematics, 3D models, design, drawings, formboards, technical specifications, test procedures, support documentation for certification etc.)
- Lead design review activities including: DFM reviews, Failure Modes and Effect Analyses (FMEA) for Design and Processes, and Process Feasibility Reviews
- Operate within a cross functional team made up of mechanical, thermal, electrical and embedded systems; understand the needs and requirements of internal stakeholders in addition to external customers
- Lead cost and yield-improvement efforts
- Participate in compliance and certification efforts
- Provide support to manufacturing team ensuring a smooth transition from engineering to production.
- Meet key KPI’s with regards to Quality, Speed and Cost
