About Company
Job Description
- Definition, deployment and assurance of design safety standards, strategy and ways of working for all aspects of design safety across the sector
- Ensure standards enable identification and mitigation of hazards and minimise risk of harm through the construction and life of engineering assets
- Co-ordination of these standards with Group Projects and other sectors
- Mentor, support and tutor engineering groups across the sector to enable adherence to the standards, and drive a culture of best practice
- Key point of contact with contract organisations for mechanical standards and design
- Act as sector expert/key point of contact for all aspects of design safety in all manufacturing plants
- Degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent, and significant experience the application of design safety in an industrial environment
- Be a member of a recognised institute within your field of expertise
- Be able to achieve business critical timescales and work under pressure
- Knowledge of global engineering standards and experience of working internationally
- Be able to set standards and can drive all areas of the business to achieve those standards
- Have excellent demonstrable stakeholder management skills
