  • The Research & Technology team in Bangalore has an immediate opening for an Associate Electrical Component Engineer to support various Boeing commercial and government programs across the Boeing Enterprise. The selected engineer will be part of a small group of Manufacturing Technology Integration (MTI) experts responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into the production systems for Boeing.
  • This position requires experience in Electrical, Electronic, & Electro-mechanical (EEE) parts management, and failure analysis to support the design teams in part selection for space, man-space, military, and commercial aircraft applications and provide resolution to non-conforming parts. The candidate is required to have knowledge in Industry & military standards for the screening & qualification of EEE parts, Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuits/Devices (PEMs & PEDs), European Space Agency specification parts, and automotive grade parts selected for “hi-rel” military, commercial, and space applications. In addition, knowledge in the failure mechanisms of EEE parts and some experience in EEE part environmental and electrical test evaluations of EEE parts is also required.

Job Description

  • Project management of Parts, Materials, and Process (PM&P) tasks, budgets, & work authorization
  • Coordinate with Boeing US Component Engineers to complete tasks as applicable herein
  • Develop & maintain EEE part control plans, parts obsolescence mitigation plans, counterfeit mitigation plans, and lead-free mitigation plans for EEE parts and electrical Materials & Processes
  • Support the electrical design engineer in the part selection process in ensure proper application and compliance to the EEE parts control plan
  • Develop & maintain EEE part specifications and source control drawings, Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR/NPAR)
  • Review & approve screening data, Qualification Conformance Inspection (QCI) reports, and Destruct Physical Analysis (DPA) reports
  • Coordinate with component engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the development & qualification of complex EEE parts
  • Perform supplier inquiries on critical part information related to reliability screening, qualification, part obsolescence, and application
  • Perform subcontractor oversight compliance in review and approval of EEE Part plans, as-design part lists, NSPARs, part specifications and qualification plans
  • Manage part failure resolution and coordinate with electrical failure analysis lab to determine root cause of failure & corrective action
  • Support design reviews & equipment buy-off (FCA/PCA; Functional Conformance Audit/Physical Conformance Audit)
  • Supporting proposal teams, supplier management, product operations, and quality teams
  • Electrical Parts/Materials/Processes - Knowledge of Parts, Materials and Processes related to Electrical, Electronic, Electro-mechanical. Knowledge of radiation effects, reliability, failure modes and analysis
  • Analyze & Interpret Engr Data - Ability to analyze problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design
  • Industry/Gov Standards - Knowledge of industry, military and govt specs, handbooks and standards.
  • Research Methods - Knowledge of research tools (e.g., search engines, library databases), methods (e.g., search parameters), and appropriate resources (e.g., external experts) to gather needed data.
  • Innovation / Creativity - Discovers new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking.
