Eligibility Criteria
- A university degree and 4-6 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) or a graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience (i.e. Masters degree) or a higher level degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Doctorate degree)
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Ability to travel internationally (USA, Mexico, Europe) if needed.
Job Description
- Design and validate operator controls and integrated systems for the heavy vehicle, off-road and motorcycle markets.
- Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
- Direct support personnel (technicians and drafting teams) in the preparation of detailed technology selection, conceptual design, detail design, and prototyping.
- Direct the product development process and complete deliverables from concept through production release.
- Proactively challenge and drives the organization to deliver improved quality and performance related to engineering design.
- Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications) and capture lessons learned
- Interact directly with internal and external customers to solicit product specifications requirements, schedule expectations, and budget.
- Create and manage design-failure-mode-effects-analysis (dFMEA) documents.
- Draft product validation test plans and reports.
- Create and manage detailed product development schedules.
- Create “design to cost” estimates for new products.
- Conduct “design for manufacturability” activities with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
