Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Bachelor / Masters in mechanical engineering or equivalent field of study
- 4 – 10 years’ experience in design and manufacturing methods applicable to rotating machines, castings, fabrications, machining etc.
- Experience in automotive sector will be a plus
- Good knowledge of materials
- Exposure to analytical engineering and application in product design
Job Description
- Support the development of new mechanical concepts of air compressors and follow through the complete V-Cycle until product industrialization.
- Perform technical evaluation of design concepts and assess suitability for the required application taking into account key performance requirements, cost, manufacturability and maintenance.
- Good mechanical designer with demonstrated competencies for GD&T; DFMA with an appreciation of manufacturing process requirements in design (3D/2D CAD – Autodesk Inventor)
- Create and maintain technical documentation from BOMs and layouts to product compliance matrix.
- Lead the resolution of Product Change Requests that are raised against current designs and facilitate the communications with all required stakeholders to assure correct implementation.
- Lead investigations to resolve technical issues on the existing product range
- Perform design activities such as DFMEA, FEA in order to assess design suitability, fatigue life, structural analysis etc.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to understand and capture system requirements and understand the specific needs for the product
- Liaise with suppliers and provide support to negotiate purchasing agreements and develop cost effective designs.
