• Design of complex mechanical components and subassemblies
• Independent and enthusiastic designer with original concepts
• Able to perform a variety of tasks from CAD to detailing and documentation with minimal supervision
• Hands on experience with building and putting together a prototype or a complex mechanical machine
• Interaction with vendors to supply our specification and analyze the information provided by vendors
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and get them up to speed with the current project status
• Prepare and present engineering solution to the management
• Ability to discern and investigate different engineering options and analyze the best solution based on a variety of considerations
• This role requires strong communication, in addition to being comfortable with working independently through ambiguities under minimal guidance and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Worked on new product development, involved in the product design life cycle from the concept and feasibility phase to prototype development to hand off to high volume manufacturing
• Excellent communicator, can present his/her ideas clearly and can explain the approach to the solution of a technical problem succinctly
• Fast learner, open to new ideas
