Job Description
- Designing and specifying instrumentation and control systems for industrial wastewater treatment plants, including flow meters, pressure and level sensors, and control valves.
- Developing and implementing control strategies for the treatment process, such as pH control, flow control, and chemical feed systems.
- Programming and configuring programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Collaborating with other engineers and departments to ensure that the instrumentation and control systems are integrated with the overall plant design and meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Keeping abreast of new technologies and industry developments in order to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Preparing engineering proposals, including the development of scopes of work, and assembling fee estimates and schedules
- Compliance to the Health and Safety standards
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and process control.
- Experience in the design and specification of instrumentation and control systems for industrial wastewater treatment plants.
- Experience in reviewing of P&ID drawings related to the water and wastewater treatment process.
- Strong Knowledge in preparation of Schedules viz. I/O list, Instrument list and Cable Schedules etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations, standards and best practices regarding the design and operation of industrial wastewater treatment plants
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, and the ability to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, ability to work effectively with other engineers, technicians and plant operators.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in programming languages and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to work with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate instrumentation and control systems with the overall plant design.
- Strong understanding of the principles of process control and the ability to apply these principles to the design and operation of industrial wastewater treatment plants.
- Strong ability to learn new technologies and keep abreast of industry developments.
- Knowledge of international codes, standards and practices related to UK/Middle East/ USA water industry is preferable.
- Must have previously worked during various phases of the project cycle from feasibility to commissioning of water/wastewater pumping station and treatment plants
